Making Music

Today was pancake breakfast fundraiser for our building. The turnout wasn't great but it was fun. I played fiddle with the band this year to fill out the sound because it was rather thin. There really isn't any point to this post other than to note the Bluegrass nights at the Anza club at 8th and Ontario. I had forgotten about the bluegrass night and I don't want to forget again. The guitarist in this mornings band plays at the Anza club and he was pretty awesome.

Thanksgiving Orphans

This Thanksgiving we had a great dinner, 17 people around the table (once we stuck three tables together and borrowed chairs from the neighbours). The food was great, everyone was stuffed and afterwards we had a game of Cranium. This was my second time cooking a turkey and for next year: a 21 pound stuffed turkey takes over 5.5 hours at 325.

Why I will never act

I'm going through old photos and found this. These are two students I supervised in the lab and we were trying to do a fun shot of me giving them trouble. It would look a lot better if I could only stop laughing.
