Bern again

For my birthday I was at a conference in Bern. We had a bit of spare time to walk around the city, and the weather was fantastic, bright and sunny. Once again I visited the bears of Bern, the cubs were playing in the water.

The water was fast flowing as it made its way around the town.

 

We also stopped for a while behind the parliament buildings to look down at the gardens below.

Moving

Finished moving (yet again), just to a neighbouring village.

Things have been messy and chaotic and we are still living out of boxes! However, the new place is fantastic and cute and we have great views out of all the windows!

In Switzerland you have to register with the town when you move, this involves going there during office hours and paying (yet another fee). We also have paper waste pickup once every second month!! Cardboard waste is picked up once a month. All waste must be carried to centralized garbage bins. Apparently the paper waste is picked up by the school children, they get to take the day off school. At least it used to be that way.

Hiking and snowshoeing

So a few weekends we have done a few small hikes in the region, walking on the snow and snowshoeing.

Random Life

Winter still remains here in the mountains. I might have moved down a few hundred meters but we still get snow falls.

And something random from around the lab. Turns out they really are collecting personal samples to be used as the experimental negative controls.
