On this weekend during the day Mic and Frank went mountain biking, not really my thing and I decided to stop running around working all the time and instead recapture my youth - sitting around reading in the heat. Well, ok, I also went to the grocery store. Twice (and still forgot to buy peanut butter which isn't as good as Kraft PB just FYI). There was some kind of festival downtown, with a tent up and drinks and snacks being served and a live band playing.
In the early afternoon we all met up again and went hiking again up to Schlappin to have dinner at Berghuas Erika. This time we went off the road and took the official hiking trail which wandered through the forest beside the road.
It was hard work even when I wasn't carrying a pack, but beautiful, sunny and warm. Dinner at Berghaus Erika was good as always, first having an iced tea sitting on the patio looking at the cows moving on the mountain, then inside for dinner before walking back down. Good thing it is light so late and we didn't need headlamps.
On Sunday we tried out the 3D archery parcour above our place at Madrisa, We caught a gondola up the mountain and rented bows at the top. Then we were set loose to wander through a trail in the forest shooting at animal targets.
Our aim was ... somewhat to be desired... starting at the beginning with a very close target we had a hard time hitting it at first!
However, as the day progressed we got better, and the targets got more difficult. Here is Frank after conquering a turkey.
And Mic with his hunting face on.
And me shooting a bear.
When it came time to try for the deer our efforts to hit it were comical.
However, the view was fantastic, the weather was wonderful and we only just ran out of water at the end.
When we arrived back at the house Frank cut up the entire wheel of cheese we had purchased together from one of the farmers in the region.
