Towards the top of the hike was a farm. You never seem to be very far away from the villages, farms or cows. There is cow poop all over the Jura and the alps. I'm sure you can get high enough to get away from it all but I haven't been there yet.
The cows were not skittish at all and we had to walk through a herd.
At the top we stopped for a picnic and looked at the farms spread out below us.
